Contact Gloria at 409.899.7589 to volunteer in Beaumont or at 409.989.5324 to volunteer in Port Arthur. Volunteers exemplify the spirit of CHRISTUS Hospital. More than 200 individuals generously donate several hours a week, assisting nursing and support personnel in key areas throughout the hospitals. THE GARTH HOUSE

Since opening in 1991, the Garth House has worked with over 8,300 children and their
families. Children have a safe home-like environment to tell their stories, which are digitally recorded so investigative agencies can view the DVD’s instead of repeatedly questioning the children. Teddy bears, kindness, and smiles surround hurting, sad children. The Garth House provides counseling to help children and non-offending family members deal with their situation and begin the healing process, and is dedicated to breaking the cycle of child abuse one child at a time. Volunteer opportunities include: Family Greeter Volunteer, Clerical Volunteer, Fundraising/Public Relations Volunteer, Hospital Volunteer. Visit us online at www.garthhouse.org “What Can You Do?” to make the difference in the life of a child.

FORD PARK

Want to have a great time while earning money for your organization?  SAVOR…,Ford Park’s in-house catering and concessions department, partners with area non-profit groups by providing them a fun and profitable fund-raising opportunity!
If you’ve ever purchased a concession item at an event at Ford Park, chances are you were served by a member of a local non-profit, who receives a percentage of the sales they generate in their concession stand.  Ford Park’s Director of Food & Beverage, Melessa Kotlarich, states “We are very proud to be a part of all the organizations with whom we work on a regular basis.  This is something we have done since the building opened.  The groups raise money while providing us with highly motivated members working for their cause.”  At any given time, Ford Park has about 20 groups in event schedule rotation, which could be a concert, sporting event or family show in Ford Arena, Ford Pavilion or Ford Fields.
An example of the impact of this program is Sabine High School, who raised enough money to send their seniors on a trip to Hawaii.  According to Kotlarich, the local Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation group made the single largest donation to their national organization from funds earned at Ford Park.  One of the advantages for non-profits is that they have no outlay of their own funds like they would if they were selling links or washing cars.  Plus it’s fun!

For information on how your group can be involved, simply send an email to mkotlarich@fordpark.com.

    CASA
    Contact CASA at 409-832-CASA.

    What is C.A.S.A.?
CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate. CASA Volunteers are ordinary people doing extraordinary things for abused children. CASA of Southeast Texas, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization serving Jefferson County since 1992. CASA was started in Seattle, Washington in 1977 by a judge to make sure that abused and neglected children did not suffer further in an overburdened and complex child welfare system.
You do not have to be a lawyer or social worker to become a CASA volunteer. These abused children simply need dedicated and devoted men and women willing to advocate for their best interests. Being a CASA volunteer requires no specialized degrees or legal experience. It does require special people age 21 or over who have:
    A concern for children,
    A genuine desire to help,
    The ability to remain objective,
The maturity to deal with emotional situations,
The commitment to complete a 33 hour training course,
Willingness to submit to background checks,
Sensitivity to people who are different from themselves,
Access to transportation and a flexible schedule, and
A willingness to devote at least one year to a child's case.
