HFH of Jefferson County pulled off a successful golf tournament in a month that saw two golf tournaments cancelled due to weather and on a sunny Monday that was followed by torrential rain on Thursday.
Call us lucky! We were blessed by God and enjoyed crystal blue skies and cool weather for our first ever golf tournament. Partnering with the Home Builders of Southeast Texas, we hosted close to 30 teams for an afternoon shotgun start.
The event was made possible by the many sponsors and friends who gave a hand (and more!). Tony Broussard, of Triangle Waste Management cooked up some delicious barbeque for the golfers and his staff served up chicken and pork fajitas with veggies in tortillas to the compliments of all.
Del Papa Distributors provided some refreshments, along with Coca Cola and Cowboy Polaris. These were also greatly appreciated by the golfers.
The following provided financial support to the cause:
Clay Dugas and Assoc.
Brent Coon and Assoc.
McClelland, Samuel, Fehnel and Busch
Mobiloil Federal Credit Union
Doguet’s Rice Mill
Coburn’s Supply
Gold Crest Electric
American Valve and Hydrant
Jefferson Electric
Forest Lawn
B&W Bowling Center
Convention and Visitors’ Bureau
Thanks also go to David Bell and the staff at Brentwood Country Club for their assistance and guidance.
And, of course, thanks go to Gary Boudwine and Gale Simmons of the Home Builders’ Association for their cooperation and partnership on this venture.
