Family Services of Southeast Texas, in conjunction with local media and several local congregations, have made it a priority to highlight outstanding families in our community every year during National Family Week in November.
Because the mission of Family Services is to strengthen and empower families, they are asking local pastors to not only honor families, but also raise awareness of the importance of strong families.
Pastors can be involved by:
· Have a time of prayer for families
· Share a sermon about the importance of family
· Highlight the talents of a family through special music or drama
· Adopt a family in need for Thanksgiving
· Take a special offering designated to help Family Services strengthen families
· Plan a church-wide outing that focuses on family-time, such as a picnic
· Make resource material that strengthens families available to your congregation
· Host an essay or art contest for children that highlights families
